Hello. I’m Gregory Jones QC. I am the Alderman for Farringdon Without. I was elected on 8 February, 2017 and formally took up my new office on 9 March, 2017, having served the same ward as a Common Councilman since 2013. I started this website for my constituents as a point of contact to help keep up to date with my activities as a Common Councilman and I shall continue to do so in connection with my work for you as your Alderman.
I hope this web site will become a useful means of promoting the people and businesses within Ward.
I work as a practicing barrister at Francis Taylor Building in the Temple in my Ward and have done so for over 20 years. I was called to the bar (by Lincoln’s Inn) in 1991 and took silk (i.e. became a QC) in 2011. I specialise at the bar in town and country planning, environmental, EU and local government law. This has been useful because I have been able to draw upon my own work experience to assist constituents in relation to such matters as planning, noise and highways problems. I also practice in ecclesiastical law and I have been elected by Common Council to serve as one of the City’s representatives on the Guild Church Council of St Lawrence Jewry. I am also liaison member of the benefices sub-committee for both St Lawrence Jewry and also St George the Martyr with St Alphege & St Jude: Southwark
I currently serve on the following City of London Committees:
